Bengal Tigers Cricket Club has been a familiar name in Manitoba Cricket Association since 2004. Like every other club, a group of cricket lovers and enthusiasts, who used to play cricket on the street or in their backyard without proper gears, decided to take it to the next level and the club was born. The club members and community people are the heart and soul of Bengal Tigers Cricket Club as they treat the club as their extended families. With their love and support, team Bengal Tigers Cricket Club secured their first indoor championship back in 2005/2006 at the MCA indoor cricket league competition. Following their success in the indoor league, Bengal Tigers Cricket Club had also been participating in the summer/outdoor organized by Manitoba Cricket Association and won their first outdoor championship in Division 2 back in 2007 and again in 2012. They had been competing in MCA Division 1 ever since. During the early days there were only 8 teams competing in two divisions as opposed to 22 teams across 3 divisions (Division 2, Division 1 & Premier Division) at the moment.
Cricket has certainly grown in Manitoba, and Bengal Tigers Cricket Club was no exception. With the influx of new faces, coming and joining as players, sponsors, supporters, Bengal Tigers has been able to come a long way from its early days. Bengal Tigers have always been blessed with some exceptional cricket talents like Ashraful Haque (Most Valuable Player in Div 1, 2015) who also represented our pride and glory to Manitoba provincial team, Abdul Noor (Best bowler in Div 1, 2015), Abu Kabir (Best Wicket Keeper in Div 1, 2015) and many more. Additionally, Bengal Tigers also highly recognizes people from other community, teams who had played with us in the past and made a positive impact in the team with their performances and sportsmanship. Long gone are the days of playing cricket in white kits, hardly having enough players to fill up and even managing time beside study and work. Bengal Tigers cricket team has a group of potential players & officials, who are committed not only to improve the game of cricket but also dedicated to enrich our history and achievements at the same time. With right kind of attitude and love for the game, it’s only a matter of time when more and more players from the club get exposed to greater arena of Canadian sports and carry out our values and ethics
